Window 5

​The Feeding of the 5000

Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted. When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, 'Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.' So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, 'This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world.' (John 6:5-15)

Jesus Walking on Water

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he dismissed the crowds. Jesus went up on the mountain to pray. When evening came, the boat was out on the lake and Jesus was alone on the land. When he saw that the disciples were straining at the oars against an adverse wind, he came towards them early in the morning, walking on the lake, When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they thought it was a ghost. But immediately he spoke to them and said, 'Take heart, it is I do not be afraid.' Peter answered, 'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.' Jesus said, 'Come.' So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water. but when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sin, he cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt?' When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God. '(Matthew 14:22-33)

Jesus The Good Shepherd

Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep...my sheep hear my voice. I know the, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand." (John 10:11-16,22-30)

The Last Supper

When the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table, and the apostles with him. He said to them, 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;'...He took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. (Luke 22:14-15 & I Corinthians 11:23-26)

The Crucifixion

Standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciples whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, 'Woman, here is your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Here is your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home. It was nine o'clock in the morning when they crucified Jesus. Pilate had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, 'Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.' (John 19:25-27 & Mark 15: 25-26)

The Resurrection

On the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women went to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. 

    They said, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over the sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.'

     In another account, according to John, we are told that Mary remained outside the tomb weeping.

    Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? For whom are you looking?' Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, 'Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.' Jesus said to her, 'Mary!' She turned and said to him in Hebrew, 'Rabbouni!' (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, 'Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father.' (Luke 24:1-7 & John 20:11-17a)
